THE MADISON COUNTY FAIR & HORSE SHOW

The Madison County Fair and Horse Show began as the Madison County Horse Show back in 1943. The event was initially held at the Eastern State College now known as Eastern Kentucky University. The Fair eventually purchased a lot on the corner of Highway 52 and the Eastern By-Pass. Many fairs and events were held there until part of the grounds were purchased to build the Robert R. Martin By-Pass. The remaining portion of the lot was sold and the current fairgrounds location was purchased.
