Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Oberlin, Louisiana was established September 8, 1920 under his Excellency Bishop Jules B. Jeanmard of the Diocese of Lafayette. The Parish Church was constructed 4 months after the canonization of Saint Joan of Arc. Saint Joan of Arc Parish and her Mission Church Saint Joseph in Soileau, Louisiana was transfered to the jurisdiction of the Diocese of Lake Charles upon the foundation of the diocese under the direction and guideance of his Excelllency Bishop Jude Speyrer on January 29, 1980. Today, Saint Joan of Arc stands as a staple of the Oberlin Community and her faithful Catholic Parishioners who strive to live in a state of grace and inaugurate the Kingdom of God on earth.
