The Shelter Home of Caldwell County (SHCC) has been a sanctuary for survivors of domestic violence since its inception in 1978. Founded amidst a growing awareness of the need for specialized support services for victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault, SHCC began its mission with a modest facility but a boundless commitment. From providing emergency shelter to comprehensive victim advocacy, our history is a testament to our community’s resilience and dedication. Through challenges and changes, including the expansion of our facilities and services, our core mission has remained steadfast: to offer safety, support, and empowerment to those in need.
