ROCK HILL BAPTIST CHURCH
Rock Hill Baptist Church - Home
In the year 1862, a few God fearing men decided to build a place of prayer and worship. Rock Hill Baptist originated near three plantations: Bunker Hill, Wampee, and Hog Swamp Plantations. The church was first located near Highway 46 between Old and New State Road, an area named Hanover, four miles above Pinopolis, South Carolina. This area is now under water and is part of the Tail Race Canal, currently owned by Santee Cooper. In the year 1942, Rock Hill Baptist built another church structure off Highway 17A, approximately 1.5 miles from the town of Moncks Corner, South Carolina. In the late seventies, the present church was built. This is the fourth church to carry the name of Rock Hill Baptist Church.
In June of 2013, Rock Hill Baptist’s Pastor, the Rev. Leon G. Brown, retired after 33 years of Pastoral Service. The current pastor accepted the call on November 15, 2013. The Ordination and Installation for the Rev. Raymond B. Young occurred on March 2, 2014. What a Mighty God we serve! Three Associate Ministers have since joined the congregation. In 2014, the Rev. Thelma Perkins joined the RHBC congregation family; in 2016, Minister Linda Warren became a member. Subsequently, Evangelist Mary Brown and Minister Malcolm Howard joined the Ministerial Staff.
Under the leadership and guidance of Rev. Raymond B. Young, the church has gone through an extensive building renovation; to include a Fellowship Hall.
Rock Hill Baptist Church has been truly blessed and we thank God for ALL of the GOOD things HE has done.
