PARTNERS IN DRUG ABUSE REHABILITATION COUNSELING

IDARC (Partners in Drug Abuse Rehabilitation Counseling) was founded in 1971 in response to a request from Washington DC’s then Narcotic Treatment Agency, to develop the only private alternative to the city’s large network of publicly run outpatient methadone treatment programs. PIDARC is a program of The Foundation for Contemporary Mental Health, a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization.
People, who are addicted to drugs, come from all walks of life. PIDARC’s patients are adults, 21 years of age or older, with opioid dependence, including heroin, oxycontin, and other prescription narcotic pain medications. They have abused drugs and now they want help through outpatient treatment to stop using drugs and rebuild their lives. PIDARC has earned a local and growing national reputation for clinical excellence and continually expanding innovative services.
PIDARC provides pharmacological intervention through methadone maintenance along with a variety of other therapeutic modalities. These are all designed to support patients in their recovery and provide them with the life skills they need to function in a drug-free environment.
