Dr. Clawson’s second opinion service can be initiated by either a treating professional or their patient. Second opinions are undertaken with the understanding that both the patient and treating professional(s) are in agreement regarding the need/desire for a psychiatric second opinion, and that the patient in question is currently under the care of a qualified psychiatrist.
Second Opinions are often sought when there are questions or uncertainty regarding diagnosis, medication strategy, or overall treatment planning. The purpose of a Second Opinion is to provide additional insights to the existing treatment team and the patient/family about diagnostic and treatment options that may not have been explored thus far.
