Dr. Aronoff has been a practicing clinical psychologist for thirty-five years. After completing a pre-doctoral fellowship at Harvard’s Cambridge City Hospital, Dr. Aronoff spent the first decade of his career at the internationally renowned Austen Riggs Center, an open psychiatric hospital and center for education, research, and psychotherapy in Stockbridge, MA where Norman Rockwell illustrated some of his famous pictures of idyllic, small-town America.
During his tenure at the Austen Riggs Center, Dr. Aronoff treated inpatients with severe psychiatric disorders using intensive psychodynamic psychotherapy and simultaneously became certified as a psychoanalyst from the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. At the Austen Riggs Center, Dr. Aronoff worked and trained with renowned psychoanalysts affiliated with the American and the International Psychoanalytic Associations.
