MedVadis Research is a state-of-the-art, clinical trial research center founded by Egilius L.H. Spierings, M.D., Ph.D., also its medical director and principal investigator. The facility is located just outside Boston, in Watertown, Massachusetts, and housed in a renovated early-19th century building.
MedVadis Research was founded in 1996 as Clinical Headache Research Center and relaunched in 2003 as MedVadis Research Corporation. Since 2003, MedVadis Research has conducted 64 headache and 56 chronic pain trials.
Our headache trials have ranged from stopping migraine headaches in their tracks and preventing them, to the treatment of chronic headache and pediatric migraine. Our chronic pain trials have addressed a variety of painful conditions, including hip and/or knee pain from osteoarthritis, chronic lower-back pain, irritable bowel syndrome, painful feet from diabetes, known as polyneuropathy, and fibromyalgia. In addition, we have conducted 17 trials for opioid-induced constipation due to the treatment of chronic non-cancer pain with opioid medications.
