Long Glazing & Doors (LGD) was established in 2015 with a combined total of 80+ years of commercial glazing experience between family members involved.
LGD is a family-owned and established company which has flourished through professional craftsmanship and word-of-mouth advertising only. Our company has background in such projects as store-front entrances, public school window installation, curtainwalls, restaurant glazing remodels, residential shower doors, and automatic Doors. We have multiple members within our team that are AAADM Certified to work on automatic doors. Our current backlog includes, Mindtouch project which included interior frameless glass partitions in Downtown San Diego, Toussaint Academy for Father Joe’s Village, a 4 story break metal and reseal project, Paseo del norte medical building, a 3 story new construction building with glass curtain/wall systems wrapping 3 sides of the building.
The founder of LGD, James Long, has been in the glazing industry for over 12 years. James previously worked for Centex Glazing, a large commercial glass company which specializes in public works projects, specialty glass and railing systems, and high end storefronts. James has experience in conducting field foreman activity and oversight for the following projects; Grossmont Union High School District Office, High Tech Elementary School in San Marcos, Olympic Training Center Archery Building, and the St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Vista. Additionally, James obtained a degree in Construction Management from Southwestern College in 2009.
James’s father, Jim Long has been Vice President at Centex Glazing since the company’s establishment in 2000. Additionally, Jim has 50+ years experience working in the commercial glazing industry. He has recently retired from Centex Glazing.
James’s mother, Sherry Long has worked as Project Manager and Project Estimator for 30 years. Sherry has worked for Vision Systems Glazing Company in the years past. She completed administration for some of the largest high rise buildings in San Diego, including the Miramar Pyramid in Miramar, San Diego.
James’s brother, Donavon has worked in the Automatic door industry for 15 + years with companies such as Stanley, and Southwest entrances installing high-end commercial automatic door openings.
