LAKE MERRITT ROWING CLUB
Lake Merritt Rowing Club
Lake Merritt Rowing Club is Oakland, California's rowing community since 1962; a member-run nonprofit for rowers ages 12 & up.
The Lake Merritt Rowing Club is open to all community members who wish to learn the sport of rowing or refine their competitive skills. Since 1962, the Club has provided a wide range of rowing programs for all ages and skill levels. Our novice programs include Summer Youth Rowing (an introductory summer program for Oakland youth), sculling lessons, and sweep lessons, plus the Mixed Novice/Recreational Crew for new and recreational/non-competitive sweep rowers. Our other sweep rowing programs include the Mixed Intermediate Crew for intermediate level rowers, the Masters Women’s Team for advanced rowers, and San Francisco Bay Blades, a primarily lesbian and gay group within LMRC. The club also has a Mixed Sculling Group and many members participate in both sculling and sweep rowing.
