LMSD is a professional association of pathologists based at St. Lukes Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota. LMSD represents the continuation of a practice begun by Dr. Arthur Wells in Duluth in 1935. Over the years, LMSD has provided pathology services to more than a dozen hospitals in Minnesota, Northern Wisconsin and Northwestern Michigan. Currently, LMSD provides professional pathology services to St. Lukes Hospital (Duluth), Community Memorial Hospital (Cloquet), Mercy Hospital (Moose Lake), Lakeview Hospital (Two Harbors) and Cook County Hospital (Grand Marais). Today, services are provided by four pathologists: Steven J.Eastep, M.D.; Sarah Lundeen, M.D.; Jon Steinhauer, M.D. and Kristin Baer, M.D.
