The ranch is located in East Central Kansas, 1 mile west of Pomona on Highway K-68. Gelbvieh, Red Angus, and Balancer seedstock are sold each year at the annual bull sale, the first Saturday in March, and the annual female sale, the second Saturday in October. Both sales are at the ranch.
David and Cindy Judd started the operation in 1981 with the goal of producing profitable and functional genetics for commercial cattlemen. Today, Judd Ranch is honored to be the American Gelbvieh Association’s number one breeder and owner of Dams of Merit and Dams of Distinction for 20 of the past 21 years. Judd Ranch females are highly fertile, moderately framed, and very productive. The bulls they produce are deep bodied, thick, and structurally sound. The herd is genetically uniform and possesses a good balance of traits, due to stacking generations of like phenotypes and genotypes.
