The business, Jones Funeral Home, was originally opened in 1914 by John Jay Jones, Sr. and Lena Plantevigne. Over the course of the years, the business was handed down to John Jay Jones, Jr from the mid-1970s until 2008. In 2009, the Jones Funeral Home closed.

In 2010, the funeral home re-opened its doors to one of the best Embalmers and Funeral Directors in the Ark-La-Tex, Jonathan W. Stuart, Jr.
