JON ROSENFELD MD

I like to provide both therapy and medication for patients who would like both. I find I am more able to provide both when I accept insurance.
I graduated from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons and received a PhD in pharmacology from Columbia. Pharmacology is the basic science that studies how medications work.
I completed my psychiatry residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital where I served as Chief Resident on the Consult Service helping medical and surgical patients deal with the stress of illness.
I graduated from the Psychoanalytic Institute at Columbia. Psychoanalytic training provided an extended period after residency during which my work was enriched by supervision from more experienced colleagues. Now, I incorporate several different kinds of therapy in my practice.
I am affiliated with Mt. Sinai West where I served on the Executive Committee of the Medical Board and the Pharmacy Committee. For 10 years after I finished my residency training, I was chief of an inpatient psychiatry unit. Since then, I supervise a resident doing outpatient psychotherapy.
I have been a member of the Committee on Organizational Consultation of the American Psychoanalytic Association.
