Hatfield & Hatfield began in 1974 when Jack and Kitty hung out their shingle on the second floor of the Piedmont Building. After a move to the Wachovia building and Jack’s four-year term as a District Court Judge, Kitty and Jack resumed practicing together on Washington Street, then a one-story building. In 1989 Cindy joined Hatfield & Hatfield and a short time later, the second-floor addition was built to accommodate the entire family. The firm has evolved with Kitty and Cindy limiting their practices to family law, and Jack primarily being a criminal lawyer and civil litigator.
