Over ten years ago, Miami County residents Mike Hines and Jeff Morehead recognized the need for a support group for those with disabilities in the area. Having had disabilities themselves for many years and being constantly confronted with non-access into many places in Peru, they formed a 501(c)3 organization in 2007, focused on educating our community and offering help to others in similar situations. The Harvesting Capabilities name was derived from their motto:
Share your dreams and talents with us and then let us help you

“Harvest them into Capabilities.”

Our organization is governed by a volunteer board of 8 members which meet the fourth Wednesday of each month.
