GEORGE RANALLI ARCHITECT
George Joseph Ranalli (1946- ) is an American modernist architect, industrial designer, curator, and forensic expert. A native of the Bronx, New York of Italian descent, he began his career as a jazz drummer before embarking upon an architecture education. Educated at Pratt Institute School of Architecture (B.Arch ’72) and Harvard University Graduate School of Design (M.Arch ’74). For 40+ years, he has accrued experience, qualifications, honors, and awards for commercial, civic, residential, and landscape architecture projects and contributions to advance both the innovations and traditions of the discipline of architecture.
He is founding principal-in-charge of George Ranalli Architect, established in 1977—a full-service architecture business specializing in architectural design at every scope and scale, attuned to history and setting, His designs – recognized as works of art in their own right – are exhibited and collected, worldwide, by cultural institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, U.S. Library of Congress, and Canadian Centre for Architecture.
