The Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps. started its volunteer service in 1948 with seven members, who wanted to provide ambulance services to the borough. Fair Lawn was one of the first towns to have its own ambulance squad in the early days of EMS.
Since our inception, the Corps has had over 700 volunteers assist in providing emergency medical care and transport to individuals within the borough, as well as neighboring towns when needed.
Our Corps has responded to some of the most devastating of events from 9-11 to the events leading up to and after Hurricane Sandy.
Our current lineup of members includes 36 active general members, 14 active/retired members, 3 affiliate members, 8 probationary members, and 10 cadet members. Our team of 71 members helps us operate from day to day- whether it be responding to 9-1-1 medical emergencies, helping out during special events, or taking care of the operational and administrative needs of the Corps!
