While at the University of Alabama, Erwin Dudley consistently made a name for himself. During his career at Alabama, he was named an All-American by the Associated Press, a consensus Southeastern Conference Player of the Year and a unanimous All-SEC First Team pick. Erwin Dudley led the Southeastern Conference in rebounding for three consecutive seasons, becoming the first player to do so since Shaquille O’Neal. He also holds the University’s school record with 129 career starts and ranks seventh all-time in Alabama scoring (1,764 points) and fourth in rebounding (1,184). Erwin also recorded 43 double-doubles earning him the nickname “E-Double Double”.In 2003, he graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Criminal Justice. The following year, Erwin began his professional career with Maccabi Rishon LeZion in Israel. In 2005, he signed with Turk Telekom and due to playing there for three consecutive seasons, Dudley was eligible to apply for citizenship. On December 17, 2008, his citizenship became official. He plays under his Turkish name, Ersin Dağlı.
