CHEATHAM COUNTY ANIMAL AWARENESS FOUNDATION

Cheatham County Paws is a nonprofit organization dedicated to help control pet overpopulation through spay/neuter assistance and support other companion animal programs for the resident of Cheatham County. Our organization also supports Cheatham County Animal Control with financial assistance to enhance the lives of adoptable animals at the facility.
Who we help:
CCP (Cheatham County Paws) provides access to low cost spay/neuter services for the companion animals of Cheatham County residents. Cities served include Ashland City, Pegram, Pleasant View, Chapmansboro, Joelton and Kingston Springs.
Organized in 1997 prior to the development of the county animal control facility in 2005, the initial goal was to find responsible homes for unwanted animals. Since the opening of the county facility, our organizations have worked hand in paw to provide a positive environment for animals relinquished to CACC (Cheatham County Animal Control). Our support has included purchasing a washer/dryer, building outdoor kennels and paying for vet care in order to save the lives or improve the health of the animals awaiting adoption.
Since 2000, the focus of CCP has been on preventing unwanted litters by providing access to low cost spay and neuter services for qualifying pet owners. Spaying and neutering reduces the number of pets that animal control must process.
Spay/neuter services are provided for a co-pay (based on income) to pet owners on fixed or low incomes, on disability, retirement (social security), food stamps or other forms of government assistance, and those simply unable to afford the service due to their current financial situation.
CCP has provided access to over 8000 low cost spay neuter surgeries over the past 10 years.
