BASIC ACADEMY
Basic Academy of International Studies has a rich tradition of providing excellence in academics, activities and athletics. The teachers and staff have a deep belief in, and a commitment to, achievement in each student. Our understanding that each child can learn, achieve, and be successful is the principle that guides our every action.
Acting upon our belief that every child can learn, we have increased the rigor relevance of our coursework. Over the past four years we have increased the number of students in our Honors and Advanced Placement (AP) classes and added an AP Geography class for our incoming freshmen to satisfy the demand for academically challenging coursework at Basic Academy. Basic Academy is a part of an AP NMSI (National Math Science Initiative), which is designed to provide training to teachers to extend and push the students academically, along with providing students in need with financial assistance to take the tests that prove their academic excellence. In
addition to increasing our AP coursework, Basic Academy is proud to announce we are developing a full International Baccalaureate (IB) Program. The IB Program is a comprehensive program channeling students on the global aspects of education, with all the coursework focused intensively on integrating the global framework of the program.
