In 1981 Jerry Sr. started building cabinets in his garage in Newark CA. During that time Jerry not only played tile and built cabinets, but he also handled full remodels. After 8 years of hard work, he was able to open a shop in Newark. Jerry and Ida were very successful in the bay area but wanted to be closer to family and in 1990 decided to close the shop in Newark and move the family and business to the Valley. In September of 1990, Jerry and Ida opened Avila’s Tile and Cabinets on Batavia Court. Jerry trained his son Jerry Jr in the trade and the business. As the years have passed the business has grown. In 2005 Avila’s Tile and Cabinets outgrew the Batavia Court building and moved to a much larger shop on North J Street.
After 30 years of business, Avila’s Tile and Cabinets are still known know for custom cabinets and quality work. Whether you are looking for a traditional look or a modern look we can build it! All our cabinets are built in our shop and not ordered out, by making them in the house we can guarantee the optimum use of the space in your home and also ensure the custom feel you deserve.
