Camp Winnataska Mission Statement
To positively impact lives through an enriching outdoor Christian experience.
Camp Winnataska was founded in 1918 as a nonprofit traditional overnight summer camp. Located just east of Birmingham, Alabama, camp is run by a board of directors and supported by Friends of Winnataska, Inc. For more than 100 years, Camp Winnataska has provided a wide variety of quality programs for kids. The ecumenical camp is open to people of all faiths and beliefs. Camp fees are among the lowest in the nation and are supplemented by funds raised by Friends of Winnataska (FOW). Camp Winnataska is a nonprofit camp dedicated to positively impacting lives through enriching outdoor experiences in a Christian environment. Camp provides campers meaningful experiences that help them grow and mature by promoting:
Physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental growth and welfare of children and adults;
Promote a love of nature and the benefits of outdoor living;
Encourage individual skills through personal and group effort;
Instill values, responsibility, sportsmanship, and citizenship;
Develop character.
