Chris McGahan began blowing glass in May of 2004. He bought some glass blowing equipment which consisted of a used furnace, a new glory hole, and a new annealing oven and put them in his backyard.
From there, he would work a few evenings a month and began to learn the basics of blowing glass and worked hard to hone his craft.
And hone his craft he did! Now he has done major installations in corporate offices, government buildings, galleries, hospitals, upscale homes, the Myriad Botanical Gardens and private collections. In 2009 Chris, along with his son Micah, developed their signature work called Redento Raffinato. They are unique in that they are made from broken and/or discarded pieces. Every step in the creation of these large vases ranging up to 42” tall reveal and proclaim God’s plan of redemption.
Chris’ glass has been chosen for heads of state, including Vice President Dick Cheney. In 2017 Chris was commissioned to blow one of his signature Redento Raffinato vases for the 58th Inauguration of the President of the United States of Donald J. Trump at the Christian Inaugural Gala in Washington D.C. on January 20th, 2017.
Chris lives with his wife Mary Ann in Oklahoma City where they operate Bella Forte Glass Studio. Together they travel across the United States both speaking about the Redento Raffinato and Mary Ann sings in gatherings and churches both large and small.
