I received my doctorate in Developmental Psychology from the University of Hawaii in 1980, and began supervised practice in Kent, WA in 1982.
Additional training includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, family systems therapy, interactive guided imagery, Mindfulness, the Myers’-Briggs Type Indicator, coaching, and testing.
Prior to licensure, I taught courses in Developmental and Intro Psychology at the U of Hawaii, Parenting classes at Renton Voc tech, and in various schools and churches in the King County area, co-facilitated a group for the Domestic Abuse Women’s Network, and volunteered at Kent Youth Services.
In 1988 I was licensed as a psychologist in the state of Washington (license # 1233), and was in private practice in Kent until January of 1997, when I joined my husband in England. Between 1997 and 2002, I developed curricula and conducted groups on developmental and cultural transition in NY, Maryland, and England. In 2002, after the death of my husband, I returned to Seattle, where I resumed private practice.
In 2004, I pursued coach’s training, and began to offer Life Coaching in addition to psychotherapy, focusing on developmental transitions such as downsizing, moving and leaving home, the empty nest, mid-life, and retirement.
In 2006, I remarried and moved my practice to Edmonds. In 2013, I moved my practice to nearby Mountlake Terrace, and in May, 2018, relocated to Port Townsend, WA.
