From the very beginning, Our Mission has been“To come alongside the people of Haiti to help them help themselves attain a sustainable life in Christ, with a real hope for the future.” Coming alongside to help them help themselves is clearly the harder way to do ministry in any foreign country. But if our help to the people of Haiti has any chance of being sustainable when we are gone, it has to be this way. “We are not going to do it for them, we are going to help them do it.”
Our purpose is to lead, encourage, teach, and train individuals, families, and communities to come to their own understanding of the knowledge and love of God, and to begin their own lives in the reconciling process of God, with purpose and intention, by loving Him with all their heart, soul and mind, and love their neighbors with that same love. We believe this will literally break the chains that have held these people and communities in poverty and oppression for generations and centuries. Ultimately our purpose is to bring glory to the name of Jesus, and continuing the work that He started and modeled for us 2000 years ago is the best way to bring Him glory.
