Animal Birth Control, Inc. in Ocean County, New Jersey is an all-volunteer, non-profit corporation.
We are dedicated to reducing the number of unwanted dogs, cats, kittens, puppies, and other pets. Only through spaying and neutering pets can this be achieved. We want to end the suffering and death of homeless animals due to pet overpopulation.
Many of these animals are the result of accidental breeding by free-roaming unaltered pets. Each year, millions of unwanted cats and dogs are euthanized (put to sleep) at shelters across the country. The more pets that are spayed or neutered, the fewer animals that will have to be destroyed. Join in the fight against pet overpopulation.
ABC is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization funded through grants, membership fees, and donations. Our main focus is to spay/neuter unwanted and abandoned pets. Most of the requests for assistance come from people who have taken stray animals in with the intention of finding them homes. We are not an animal shelter. We do provide guidance in trapping, neutering and release Trap-Neuter-Release” (TNR).
ABC offers funding assistance to pet owners needing help to defray the cost of neutering and spaying. ABC has several local veterinarians who work with them in performing this service. ABC also is involved in assisting in the adoption process of these stray animals.
