BAKER LAND SURVEYING
We are a family owned land surveying company located in Centre, Alabama on beautiful Weiss Lake. On the far left is my daughter Shauna Carothers who graduated from Freed Hardeman University in Henderson, TN and is married with one daughter, Clara Jane. To her right is my daughter Haley who graduated high school from The Lundy Christian Academy in Cedartown, GA and presently studying Psychology at Jacksonville State University. My brother Stephen is a vital part of Baker Land Surveying, LLC and works as a Party Chief.
My dad, Billy Joe Baker, founded Baker Land Surveying in 1960 and had my brother and I working in the field at an early age pulling the chain and we both progressed through all the stages of land surveying from cutting brush to running the various instruments and becoming Party Chiefs. My dad retired from land surveying in 1995 when I acquired my license, but he still holds a lot of knowledge and good advice that I seek regularly from him.
I was born and raised in Centre, Alabama. I graduated from Cherokee County High School in 1985. I spent one year of college at Jefferson State Community College in Birmingham, AL and graduated from Jacksonville State University in 1990 where I played on the tennis team at both schools.
My hobbies include tennis, table tennis, fishing, and most of all, spending time with family.
We carry all the latest equipment including GPS and total stations. We use Carlson Surveying Software with Autocad and can produce survey maps in a wide range of formats from dwg, tiff, pdf and etc.
