Greetings Second Baptist Church Family
We greet you in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior and we pray for the health and safety of our entire congregation.
Recently, the President of the United States heralded the re-opening of churches across America. However, Second Baptist Church shall adhere to the advice of doctors and scientists, and remain closed until further notice.
The Deacon Board recognizes the the Church is not the building. The Church is the people, and the health and safety of the people is our number one priority. We will remain closed until it is deemed safe to do otherwise.
We will continue to provide ministry through all of the avenues available to us at this time which is the Second Baptist Church of Maywood IL Facebook group, here under the Virtual Services tab above, and teleconference for Sunday School.
In the future, when we do open (we know not when), there will be a new normal. In the absence of a vaccine, safety protocols will have to be put in place. In order to insure the health and safety of our congregation, services may have to change. In the coming weeks, the Deacon Board will issue simple safety precautions for the health and security of everyone.
In closing, the Deacon Board would like to thank Minister Christopher D. Betts and the Sunday School staff for their extraordinary service during this pandemic.
