Razor's Edge
In 1968 the name “Razor’s Edge” was born by Mr. Joseph DeGennaro. In 1970, he moved the business to Greenwood. Before long, he out grew this facility, and in 1975, moved to this present location. In 1981, the Greenwood location was further expanded and remodeled.
To satisfy his many clients from the southern end of Blair County, Mr. DeGennaro opened a second Razor’s Edge on Blair Street in Hollidaysburg in 1984. In 1988, he purchased a home on N. Juniata Street and converted this one hundred year-old home into a modern up-scale salon.
In 1997, Mr. DeGennaro decided to totally renovate the Razor’s Edge in Greenwood and it is considered the most modern full-service salon in Blair County!
In 1997, the Razor’s Edge was voted the #1 salon in Blair County by the Altoona Mirror’s Peoples Choice Awards.
The Razor’s Edge has raised thousands of dollars for Easter Seals with its fashion shows, Cutting Carnival, and back to school Cut-a-Thons.
The Razor’s Edge is recognized as a leader in men’s, ladies’ and children’s hairstyling and is the most modern full-service salon in the area.
In 2008 The Blair County Chamber of Commerce honored Joe as the Small Businessman of the Year.
In 2011, The Razor’s Edge was awarded Excellence in Small Business during the annual Chamber Hall of Fame Awards event.
